Restylane Kysse with Lidocaine

Restylane KYSSE is the newest FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler to the Restylane family of products. Kysse uses XpresHAn Technology (like "expression") to enhance your NATURAL beauty. It is a flexible and supportive formulation that has the ability to work with your own lips. With this technology, this filler is able to integrate into the skin seamlessly, providing a natural expression and movement so you never look over done.

Lips lose volume, color and elasticity with age. Kysse is a lip filler that adds volume and shape, smooths upper lip lines for up to one year, and enhances lip color. Kysse treats thin, wrinkled or uneven lips, and improves lip texture. Visible results are immediate!

Kysse tends to last longer that other lip fillers with improvement up to one year. Some people may need 20% less product to achieve similar results to other fillers. 95% of people said their lips look natural. 100% of people said Kysse improved the appearance of their lips. 9/10 partners agreed lips were more Kysse-able!

How long does Restylane KYSSE last?

Results are immediate and lasts 9 months or more.

Where can Restylane KYSSE be injected?

Restylane Kysse is ideal to add volume and shape to thin or wrinkled lips. It also can make upper perioral rhytids (smoker/pucker lines) more smooth. Results are immediate!

Do Restylane KYSSE injections hurt?

Effort is made to make this treatment as comfortable as possible. Ice is used to numb the area, and the anesthetic lidocaine in Restylane Kysse quickly numb the area treated. Most people find this treatment very tolerable and no dental block is needed.

What are the common side effects?

Most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising. You may have tenderness and mild discomfort. Swelling may be present up to 7 days, but is usually much decreased after 2-3 days.

What should I do at least 1 week BEFORE my treatment?

To decrease your risk of bruising:

  1. Avoid taking blood-thinning medications at least one week prior (10-14 days is ideal) to procedure such as Warfarin, Dipyridamole, Clopidogrel, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as asprin, ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin etc, fish oil, vitamin E supplements, St. John’s wort, garlic tablets, ginkgo biloba, and ginseng.

  2. Start taking Arnica tablets found at Whole Foods or vitamin stores. Follow the instructions on the packaging.

  3. One day prior to appointment, start taking Bromelain (follow the instructions on the packaging) and/or eat FRESH pineapple.

  4. Avoid consuming alcohol at least 24 hours prior to your procedure--this may help decrease the odds of excessive bruising.

  5. You may want to have something to eat prior to your appointment. This may help with lightheadedness during your procedure.

  6. It is best to schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks before any event to allow time for any bruising to heal.

If you have any medical concerns with stopping or starting any medication or supplement, be sure to check with your physician first. If you are on Warfarin or Coumadin, check with your doctor prior to taking Arnica and/or Bromelain.

What should I do AFTER my treatment?

The following are some steps you can take to minimize reactions and get comfortable:

  1. Apply cool compresses to injection site (gently, without firm pressure) for 5 minutes up to 4 times a day

  2. Reduce facial expressions/lips pursing for 48 hours

  3. Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area

  4. Avoid lipstick, Vaseline or other lip products immediately after injection

  5. Avoid sun exposure as long as bruising persists

  6. Elevate head while sleeping

  7. Avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours

  8. Stay hydrated

You may take Tylenol for discomfort-Tylenol is not a blood thinner. Traumeel topical works well for bruising (found at Whole Foods or vitamin stores). Bromelain tablets help minimize bruising by digesting proteins that trigger bruising and swelling (or eat fresh pineapple). Take 250 mg 4 times a day until the bruise has healed. Minor bruising can last 2-14 days. You can also take Tumeric, 250 mg 4 times a day until the bruise is healed.

If you have a history of facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another occurrence. Be sure to let Joann, RN, know if you need medication.

How much do I need and what is the cost?
